The pros of speaking foreign languages

Мышь слы́шит мяу́канье ко́шки, и тихо́нько притаи́лась в но́рке. Тут послы́шался лай соба́ки. Мышь поду́мала:
— Е́сли побли́зости соба́ка, то ко́шка, наверняка́, убежа́ла. Тепе́рь мо́жно вы́лезти нару́жу.
Ко́шка тут же пойма́ла мышь и, проглоти́в её, дово́льная, произнесла́:
— Муррр! Как хорошо́ знать иностра́нный язы́к!

In English

The mouse heard the meow of a cat and quietly hid in the burrow. Then she heard the barking of a dog. The mouse thought:
- If there is a dog nearby, then the cat must have run away. Now I can get out.
The cat immediately caught the mouse and, having swallowed it, said satisfiedly:
- Murrr! Knowing a foreign language is so good!
